Please Help Us Build a Home

A family in our church just lost their home last Sunday. No one is exactly sure what happened or why this home burned to the ground while the village is still without power. (The remains of their home is pictured left) No one was injured in the fire, but the family did lose all of their belongings.

The house belongs to Jessica Vega and her four young children (pictured below). They are currently piled into a small house with some of their relatives. Families in Nicaragua are very close and openly welcome their relatives to live with them. However, space is a little tight now as there are now about 16 people living in one small home.

The church is working to help the Vega family build a new house. We need a total of $1500 to build their house. We currently have $500 and have started buying supplies and started breaking ground for a new foundation. The work has begun, but we will not be able to complete the new Vega house without this rest of this funding.

If you would like to help this beautiful family, please make checks payable to Lisa Smith and mail them to my family at:

128 Peters Drive Beckley, WV 25801

My family can put the money into my bank account and I can withdraw it immediately. This will help us to complete this home as quickly as possible. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to help the Vega family.

  1. That is not a fun day having your house burn down. I love how hospitable the people are, there is always room for one more. Praying that they will get a house soon.
