My heart will never cease to be amazed at the beauty found in seeing dreams step down into the everyday. Our little family here at New Song has been studying Joshua for the last couple of months in our weekly Bible study and worship time. Toward the end of Joshua, it gets a little repetitive and mundane reading chapter after chapter as land is being separated out to each tribe, clan, and family. But we talked about how although it is mundane for us to read, it was an incredible moment for them of fulfilled promises and received inheritance.

I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly. So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’ “Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! 11 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. -Joshua 14:8b-12

This man of God waited 45 years for his mountain. He waited faithfully and was willing to fight for what had been promised him.

I remember standing on an empty plot of land praying for the Lord to release my inheritance and give me land for the dreams He’s placed in my heart. That was 3 years ago. It’s been a long journey, but the first few months of this year, I’ve had the distinct joy to see this home, this dream, becoming something real. Something my eyes can see. A place my feet can walk. It’s is beautiful and joy-filled.

I haven’t waited as long as Caleb or Abraham to see the promises of God fulfilled in my life, but I have been waiting for years. I have a small taste of the deep joy they felt.

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her! -Luke 1:45

I feel so blessed to see the Lord doing what He said He would do. This next week there is a team coming from SC to help the local contractors finish out the first floor. I cannot believe that this first part of construction is almost completed and we’ll be ready to step into fundraising for round two. If you would like to join together with us in this home and family for children, you can give online to the Abide home through our website http://abideinlove.org
