March ’16 Highlights (Photo Blog)

I started out this month having my parents here to visit (pictured above at the cathedral in Leon). It was such a blessing to have my mom and dad in Nicaragua with me! I loved taking them to see my home, to see my life and ministry and to visit some of the beautiful places in Nicaragua.

This month New Song had the pleasure to host teams from North Carolina and Florida (pictured above). It was such a blessing to have these wonderful folks serving alongside of us. They helped train Sunday school teachers, ministered to single mothers, reached out to the churches, and blessed our staff. I’m thankful that Nicaragua has crossed my paths with so many incredible people!

This month I was able to host a great team from Northside Baptist in South Carolina to help build the Abide Home (pictured above at my home). I am so thankful for their love, kindness and hard work. It has been such a pleasure to work with them at the Abide Home for the past two years.

Construction continues on the Abide Home. It’s been such a joy to see this home take shape as this dream becomes a reality (pictured above). Please continue to pray for me as I plan for the transition to foster care and for the family that will be built within the walls of this house.

While the team from Northside was here, we went volcano boarding at Cerro Negro (pictured above). It’s the first time in five years that I have visited this beautiful volcano. I had almost forgotten how much fun this is! Nicaragua is so full of adventure and beauty!

This month we welcomed a new member to our family. Welcome to the world, Freedom Emmanuel! We were so excited to celebrate with Diego and Kenia as they brought their first child into the world. This little boy is so loved.

This month, Cadence and I took our youth on their first mission trip. We spent the day in Leon serving at Jesus Centered Ministries. Our youth painted their outer wall and worked with the kids. I was so proud of these youth as they raised their own money for the trip and served with such joy. You can read more about our time in Leon through my blog post: Go & Serve
