This month has been a much slower month compared with the first three months of this new year that have been incredibly jam-packed. It’s been nice to have a slower pace of ministry, more time to reflect and plan, and more time to rest. Here are a few highlights from the past month of ministry:
As our sponsored high school students continue to complete their monthly service hours, it has been fun to watch how much some of them really enjoy the service that they are doing. We have loved working with them and watching them work (Jespin & Karla helping Cadence hand out school supplies- pictured above)
One of my favorite parts of our sponsorship program is seeing our students begin to believe in themselves. Sweet Reyna, one of my second graders in Santa Matilde, struggled last year both in her classes and in her belief that she was capable. Cadence and I both spent a great deal of time last year pouring into Reyna and speaking truth over her. I have longed to see her believe in her own intelligence. This month as she was writing a letter to her sponsor I loved to hear her talk about being a top student and how she’s believes that she can do more. My heart soars with joy when my kids believe in all the greatness that the Lord has placed inside of them.
This month is the heart of mango season which is one of my favorite seasons of the year! I love when the trees are filled with ripened mangos and almost everyday includes being gifted one of these sweet treats. Thank you Jesus for mango season!
We love baby Freedom Emmanuel! I love sweet baby cuddles with the newest member of our family.
I have enjoyed my sweet Thursday afternoons in Santa Matilde. This month contained some beautiful home visits with the sweetest children. We were able to meet our newest little love, Jose Adrian. We are praising the Lord that he and his momma are home after a very traumatic delivery! We also got to spend a sweet afternoon with the Bustillo family loving on Lidia and Johanna and trying moringa together. I’m thankful for this lovely village and the way that it has captured my heart.
Construction on the Abide Home in nearly finished. I love this beautiful home. I love that I can now stand in it and imagine the life and family that will be built here. Please continue to pray as I figure out timing for next steps.
I don’t think I have ever been so excited to see rain in my life! After a drought last year, rainy season has come early this year. We are still waiting to see how it’s going to go because meterologists are still saying that we will either have increased droughts or flooding. Please pray for our area that we will receive the rain that we need, but that there will not be crazy flooding that could easily wash away homes and cause landslides.
Your Abide Home looks great! Glad it’s been built and you can move in soon. Did you have a tile roof put on? A relaxed month is good. We had a busy week with our 2 grandkids here for a few days. A hand full but I felt blessed being with them. Their baby sister, Lydia, was born Tues. I got to see her but not held her yet. Prayers for rain in Nica and no floods. We had drought last year as well but blessed by mtn snow and rain, here in Oregon. Forecasters predicted differently. God’s the ultimate weatherman! Hugs and blessings, Lisa.

I continue to pray for you daily my friend…that you would be encouraged, that God would provide for all your needs, that your ministry will be powerful and effective and that He will protect you in all ways. And she is learning so many words…she is a very smart little cookie. Evan loves flying his helicopters and I am still loving just being mommy. ๐
Thanks for being so consistent with these photo blogs! I love them! Praying for you ๐
Love the photos. Mangoes are the best, I agree! You mentioned you were trying Moringa. I have heard people rant and rave about the health properties associated with Moringa. What do you use it for?
